Alongside performing, Sara developed a strong interest in choreography during her training.

For her, choreography is a playground, a space to investigate the pressing queries of existence through space, time, bodies, sweat, and ever-evolving tableaux.

Sara’s work begins from lived experience, as a human and as an artist navigating the world. Guided by curiosity, she follows the questions that arise from this personal ground. Her experience of being an immigrant and being raised by an immigrant mother also intersects with this curiosity, leading her to view the body as an archive of memory, identities, beliefs, love, and desires.

As a female-identifying artist and maker, her work also examines and challenges the relationship between the female body and the heteronormative expectations placed upon it, both in society and within the field of dance.

In addition to her personal work, Sara also collaborates with dance artist Virginia Poli under the name VI.SA. Dance Project. More information can be found on the dedicated VI.SA. page of the website.

Since 2021, Sara has been working closely with actor and director Leo Graham, serving as movement director for his adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
