You Might Find You Somewhere

You Might Find You Somewhere

Created and performed by Sara Maurizi
Original soundscore: Dudj Doubleday

Inspired by the practice of Marina Abramović, particularly the triptych Freeing the Voice, Freeing the Body, and Freeing the Memory (1975), as well as The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, this research stems from the desire to investigate the physical, irrational, visceral, and untamed memory that inhabits us and shapes who we are.

Through an act of purification and release—of memories, words, movements, and images—the work turns its attention to what emerges and leaves the body, and to what remains as an indelible trace, an essence.

This journey arises from the need to reconcile and connect fragmented parts of a life lived between two countries, two languages, and two cultures, alongside the ongoing challenge of inhabiting a female body.
