Sara Maurizi is a dance artist and performer based between London and Europe Mainland.

From dancing in her bedroom as a child, to developing her skills and artistry through training and her professional career, Sara has been dancing and moving her whole life.

Sara is interested in varying the means through which dance and performance take form, and in the other disciplines through which the evocative power of the body is used and manifested. In particular, poetry, visual arts, photography, and video art are her main sources of inspiration.

Due to this eclectic and broad interest, as a performer she enjoys engaging in a variety of works—from stage productions and video dance to site-specific, performance art, and long durational performance (see ‘BIO’).

As a female-identifying artist and maker, Sara is deeply interested in understanding and subverting the relationship between the female body and the social heteronormative expectations attached to it—both as a human and as a dancer.
